Closing symposium “Novel digital technologies for measuring and changing consumer food choices”

Date: Time: 12:30 Location: Tilburg (Mindlabs)

Please mark your calendars for Thursday October 17th (12:30-17:45)!
To commemorate the completion of two Tilburg University research projects (NudgeMe and Smell-e Technology), we will host a symposium on novel technologies to promote healthy food choices in an increasingly digitalized world.

Assets of mobile technologies allow for digital health interventions (e.g., within supermarket apps) to be delivered at the optimal moment in time, and to offer support tailored to the specific consumer. Immersive technologies, such as virtual reality, enable the creation of realistic food choice environments, allowing us to measure consumer responses to interventions more accurately, particularly when enhanced with real-world sensory inputs like smells.

In line with this, the half-day event will feature plenary sessions on the two themes of Immersive Technology and Personalization and “Just-in-Time” Interventions. Additionally, there will be interactive demos showcasing some of these novel technologies and a panel discussion with diverse stakeholders.

It promises to be a thought-provoking afternoon with confirmed talks from, among others, Rachelle de Vries and Nynke van der Laan (Department of Communication & Cognition, Tilburg University), Alexander Klippel (Wander lab, Wageningen University & Research), Bart Engelen (Department of Philosophy, Tilburg University), and Len Clabbers (Nakko BV).

We hope to see you then in Tilburg! More information will follow soon.
